When presented with a world of opportunities, Burrows Paper Corporation has not limited its activities to North America. Seizing the opportunity to service the European quick service restaurant industry, Burrows opened the doors of its first foreign converting plant in 1992.

Burrows Dutch Holding, b.v. and its two operational subsidiaries, Burrows Netherlands, b.v. and Burrows Trading, b.v., operate out of The Netherlands. The main office and manufacturing plant for these entities are located in Kerkrade, The Netherlands at the center of the Euregiozone, where the countries of Belgium, Germany, and The Netherlands meet. This premium location facilitates the timely acquisition of materials and shipment of goods in order to meet customer schedule demands.

Burrows Netherlands, b.v. has grown well beyond its early objective to supply Western Europe's quick service restaurant (QSR) industry. It now manufactures and ships a wide array of paper, light weight packaging and hygienic products to all corners of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) markets. In addition to EMEA markets, Burrows Netherlands has extended its reach to serve customers located in Southeast Asia.

The Kerkrade converting and printing plant currently produces

• sandwich wraps with eight-color flexographic printing capability for traditional random and/or registered prints for full colour photo as well as comic prints, all using water-based inks; wraps can be labeled or perforated
• printed and unprinted embossed dispenser and quarter-fold napkins
• fry bags
• satchel bags
• portion cups

In 2005, Burrows Netherlands, b.v. was the first continental European-based QSR supplier to acquire accreditation for meeting the rigorous demands of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) requirements, the gold standard for manufacturing quality and consistency in the European food related industries. The achievement of BRC Accreditation reinforces the reputation Burrows Netherlands, b.v. has acquired for exceeding customer service and quality demands.

In addition to its manufacturing capability, Burrows Netherlands, b.v. is positioned to efficiently handle multi-border logistics and shipping challenges, with a diverse and trained staff to support a multi-language business environment. It also operates a Trading Company established to trade non-Burrows produced items, allowing its global customers the opportunity to combine shipment loads, ultimately resulting in reduced inventory and shipping costs.

Burrows Netherlands, b.v. has maintained a long-standing working relationship with TNO, a leading food industry association, for developing food approval processes consistent with EU and country-specific food packaging legislation as well as PRO-S-PACK in Germany. These professional relationships have helped the company achieve and maintain a strong record for meeting environmental and food related regulations within the different EU markets.
